Online training, CPD and mentoring relationships in the timber industry

Research for the The Timber Best Practice Programme has shown that developing and motivating staff is the key commercial challenge in the development of many businesses. Over 80% of businesses in the timber industry have identified this as a critical business issue.

Other key challenges included improving the skill base of the people within the business, and making sure that Information Technology is udes effectively to meet business objectives.

The Online training, CPD and mentoring project is studying how the use of internet based technology to deliver training can meet these objectives.

The primary aim of this project is to develop effective internet-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the timber industry and to develop the use of the internet for online training courses and mentoring relationships.

This website is the place to find out about the project. It is the resource centre for individuals and groups involved in the project to access training material.
